Donald M. Husband Jr.

Donald M. Husband Jr. has spent nearly five decades mastering martial arts and empowering individuals to embrace resilience, self-mastery, and ethical leadership. Born in 1963 in West Central Illinois, Donald’s journey into martial arts began at the age of ten, fueled by a determination to overcome childhood bullying. His path started with Shaolin Longfist Kung Fu, later expanding to disciplines such as Shotokan Karate, Yamanaka Kojute Jujitsu, and Korean Karate, earning him 6th-degree black belts in multiple styles.

Donald's martial journey reached new heights during his service in the United States Air Force, where he trained under esteemed mentors like Carlyle Ragoonath and James Tolbert. These experiences instilled virtues of discipline, adaptability, and perseverance—principles that became the foundation of his martial arts philosophy. After leaving the military, Donald continued training with Shihan Ed Kuras, deepening his expertise and refining his teaching approach.

As an instructor for over three decades, Donald emphasizes the integration of physical skill, mental resilience, and ethical integrity. His teaching philosophy, reflected in his book The Warrior's Trinity, inspires students to navigate life’s challenges with clarity and strength. Beyond the dojo, he is a devoted husband to Lori and a proud father to their three daughters, Brianna, Audra, and Danielle, whose love and support have been pivotal to his success.
